Freehand digital inking in Corel Painter X using the WACOM Intuos3 tablet.
Finally got around to making my first video on digital inking. This is only a 7 minute sample, but took me so many tries to figure out the appropriate screen size, the right zoom on the canvas etc. Of course I also had to edit it, add the music, post it on Youtube etc.
I’m trying my hand at capturing some of my doodling and sketching on video. Sorry for the angle as its hard to find a good place for the tripod, and to make sure this time the line art is seen (I hope).
The song is called ‘Angels’ by Within Temptation, from their album “Silent Force”.
“If we want to end a disturbing condition in our business affairs, we study that condition. If we wish to correct a mistake in directions, while traveling on vacation, we study a map. That is what we must do with suffering. We must study them just as carefully as any other condition we wish to correct.”
- Vernon Howard
Drawing is easy, what makes it difficult is the unnecessary stress the student unknowingly adds to his process. Awareness of the presence and analysis of the function of these tensions in the process of drawing is vital to draw with ease and relaxation. Not to say that some drawing ‘expresses’ tension, but a drawing ‘drawn’ with tension is different. The latter produces unwanted result.
Doodling is a way for an artist to exercise his skills in drawing and free his mind to imagine whatever he or she wants without any restrictions and with total abandonment. I’m constantly doodling stuff whenever I have free time. From time to time I intend to share a few here on this blog along with probably some tips I might find useful for every one wanting to further their skills in drawing.
